Limonada (Mexican Limeade)

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about anything in a week, but it’s because we’ve been busy with our recent renovation project for our backyard. We had an enclosed sun room, and after two years of living here – we finally took it out! It was poorly installed, and it took Lorenzo 15 minutes to take the entire thing out. He unscrewed the nails, and then proceeded to kick the walls down like crazy. We cleaned up the mess, painted the exterior of the house, and we are finally enjoying our backyard patio. It’s so nice to sit on the back porch with the nice summer breeze, and we’ve been sipping on some Limonada. It’s quite refreshing and very easy to make. Enjoy!

Limonada (Mexican Limeade)

Ingredients: 12 limes or so- you’ll need 1 cup of fresh squeezed lime juice Simple syrup – 1 ½ cups of water & 1 ½ cups of sugar Juice of one lemon Water


1. Prepare the simple syrup. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan, and heat until it barely begins to boil. Remove from heat and cool. 2. Combine 2 cups of syrup and one cup of lime juice, lemon juice and three cups of water in a pitcher. Add the lime wedges into the pitcher. Taste accordingly, add more water if needed. Serve over ice.
